Bookings and Appointments

Please phone the clinic to arrange your appointment. We’re unable to take bookings via email

General points

  1. Do not fill out the New Patient Registration Form until your booking with a GP referral has been accepted by the clinic.
  2. GP referrals need to be renewed every 12 months, and must be valid at the time of your appointment, Failure to do so denies yourself a medicare rebate for that consult.
  3. The Geographe Clinic is NOT an emergency clinic. For emergencies visit your local hospital, GP or phone 000 if the emergency is life-threatening.

Referring Practitioners

Send referral letter to referrals@thegeographeclinic.com.au. Referring medical practitioners must include their provider number and practice email address and whether they want an item 291 bulk billed assessment. The referral will be reviewed and if accepted the patient will be contacted and offered an appointment.

Patients

Initial appointment: GP sends referral to referrals@thegeographeclinic.com.au or fax 0863232271 (you must include clinical information as well as age, telephone number and medicare number).

The psychiatrists assess the referral and, if accepted, the patient is contacted by our staff and offered an appointment.

Subsequent Appointments: As a patient of the practice, you may make subsequent appointments. Phone bookings are available. Appointments are commonly 15 minute (or more rarely a 30 minutes) duration.

Please note that the psychiatrist will often make a follow up appointment with the patient at the end of a consultation. GP referrals need to be renewed every 12 months, and must be valid at the time of your appointment. Without a valid referral you are not entitled to a Medicare rebate for your consult.
